Large room in East Village; great light, storage (2024)

THE APARTMENT: Located a block away from Tompkins Square Park on the corner of East 6th St and Ave B; Citi Bikes right outside the door; 24 hour deli right across the street; Trader Joe’s, Target, Key Foods, and several other grocery stores within a 10 minute walk. We’re on the 3rd floor of a 6-floor walkup with a HUGE (seriously spoiled by this) open dining area and living room, lots of exposed brick, tall ceilings, and great natural light! Big bathroom; shower has full tub. Great laundromat just around the corner. Roof access with amazing views. This is technically a 3 bed/ 1 bath apartment, but the 3rd room is on the smaller side. I’ve been splitting it as a guest/ storage room with my current roommate - but we can decide what we want to do with it together; happy to provide pics upon request. Most of the furniture in the common area/ kitchen/ bathroom will be staying.

THE ROOM: ample storage, beautiful light, window looks out onto a garden, exposed brick. Bed in the photos is a queen.

ABOUT ME: female, mid-thirties, work pretty standard hours in the tech sector (mostly from home). Pretty lowkey but happy to have the occasional get-together. Love to read, about to start a virtual book club with a few friends that are no longer in the city (which you’d be welcome to join) and enjoy the occasional game night (both consoles + board games). I’ve got a three year old medium-sized dog - friendly, smart, and generally chill while at home, but she can get a little excited (read: jumps and wants to give kisses, no issues with aggression) when meeting new people/ other dogs. I’m very tentatively open to a second pet in the apartment, but her comfort and well-being is my priority.

THE LOGISTICS:
- Move-in date is somewhat flexible: between mid-August to end of September - ideal time would be September 1st.
- Rent is $2,200.
- Utilities and internet are extra and split equally.
- First month's rent + security deposit ($4,400 total) required to move in.
- Currently in the process of renegotiating and signing the lease, so if we move fast, I’d be happy to add you to it. Otherwise, it’ll just be a subletter’s agreement with the option of jumping on the lease next year if you’re interested.
- 1 year minimum stay, please.
