This was its first day on the track, happened about 10seconds after my axle came in for the zipp!
still working on positioning as you can see. the bar is now properly dropped and parallel to the ground. steerer tube needs another cutting.
lacing a rear 32hole DA highflange hub to an Open pro using DT bladed spokes.
Will be adding a proper silver track chain shortly and some white grips vs tape to the easton bars.
currently:
2008 Giant Omnium Frameset
DA 170mm crank
DA bb
DA 49t chainring
DA 16t cog
Karbona 50mm carbon clincher (also my front road wheel)
Zipp 909 w track axle
FSA Stem
Easton EC 90 Track BAR
Giant carbon post (looking for one now with zero offset).
Bontrager Saddle
Ultegra SL pedals
me on it.
and someone fast on it...Ryan Belliveau from Apogee/Khuouta in Quebec (and also the Giant/Atlantic Cycling Centre Team), using my Pro Pursuit bar setup (needs a steep negative rise stem as i found out quickly)
thanks for looking
don

Real nice looking bike you have there. Nice pictures as well.
How does the Giant ride to other track frames you have ridden?

I've not ridden a lot previously aside from our club bikes (junk) and a trek track bike, some louis garneaus and a sprinters maranoni. i'm sure my combination of parts is a strong contributing factor to the overall ride vs other bikes too, but i find the Giant doesn't want to stop rolling around the velodrome. its responsive to directional changes, and it can take everything i have from a cold sprint. I find that each ride out i can continue to push/pull harder than i ever have and the frame just goes forward. i assume the welded in brace supports add to the overall feeling of stiffness as well. The Maranonis owner rode mine and felt it was overall a stiffer ride as well and he's a bit of a powerhouse.
Weight is 14.02lbs at the shops scale sans pedals.

Nice track bike - I've always loved the minimalistic builds you can do on these.
Pics are fantastic too!

As Rasmus said, i just used an off camera flash to counter the suns lighting from behind. its nice when you can combine a love of cycling with a love of photography...makes for a heavy pack to carry around though!

Outdoor wood track (thats in desperate need for some fresh plywood at the moment..we have a bit too much bondo in use)!
Had a vittoria but it was worn and leaking too fast for comfort. Just puchased a bontrager race xxx 22mm tubular last night. We have a junior track camp this weekend and the primary goal is individual pursuit. i'll slap the new rubber on tongiht and it should be in fair shape for the weekends camp.

This must be one of the best shots of a bike I have ever seen! There is beauty in simplicity. Great job on the bike and photo! The wood on that track looks like it would be painful to go down on, not very smooth looking.
